Panerai PAM 312 Watch Review

The Panerai Luminor Marina 1950 3 days is one of the Panerai's most fantastic timepiece. It is a spectacular watch and is still being talked about amongst many serious watch collectors. The company started producing this watch back in 2009, and it is still in production to this day. The reference number of the watch is PAM00312.
The watch offers the brand's signature robust case in the form of a 44mm stainless steel case outfitted with a huge crown guard which is crescent-shaped and worn on a genuine leather strap bracelet. The Calibre P.9000 movement offers a 3-day power reserve, as explained by the name itself.
The case of the PAM 312 is Brushed steel. The case is thicker due to the rotor for the automatic movement. There is a mixture of the polished bezel and brushed case in the 1950's case design, which is a winning combination. It breaks up the watch nicely but also hides the smaller scratches. The case contains a quick change mechanism for watch straps on top of it. This replaces the older screwed pins which were more prone to error. The crown guard is a Panerai trademark. The diameter of the case is 44mm, and is made from 316L brushed steel.
The movement of PAM 312 is Calibre P.9000 which is one of Panerai's first in house movements. Plus, the point is that it comes with a power reserve of 72 hours which is an ample amount of coverage. The second hand has quite a smooth movement and beats at 4Hz/28,800bpm. The rotor of 312 is quite loud, and in quiet environments, you can hear it swirling around. The movement has a quick set hour mechanism, and you can set the date and hour without stopping the movement. The hour hand advances hour by hour without disturbing the seconds or minutes hand. The date changes progressively from 10 pm to 2 am.
It has got a sandwich dial which is very clean and simple. The dial is well-executed, and the lettering on the dial is precise and sharp. White and gold hands give the 312 a more modern look. The color of the dial is a black sandwich. The dial displays the time via luminous Arabic and baton markers and central hands. The lume is displayed on a disc placed under the black dial.
The PAM 312 is water-resistant up to 300 meters.
Strap and Buckle:
The buckle is sturdy and “Panerai” is laser engraved into it. It has also got a brushed finish to match the case. The black square scale alligator strap is constructed very well. It has folded edges and wears in very nicely. The stitching and hole punching of the strap is neat. You can also purchase other Panerai straps, and the quick strap change mechanism can make it too easy to change between straps. Every time you will change the strap, you will feel as if you are wearing a different watch.
The MSRP of the PAM 312 is $8,300USD.
The particular K series 312 is on 5.18 seconds per day slower.
The watch comes with an outer cardboard shipping box, pear wood box which hinges open nicely, strap changing tool, warranty booklet, watch and bezel protector, the hand tag, and the identification stickers. An extra rubber strap is provided for those who want to avoid ruining their leather strap during diving or swimming. The watch also comes with a screwdriver and spare blade to help change the buckle on the strap when required.
The dial, bezel, case, and the simple strap system are well done and attractive in their own way. The whole package looks great for almost any occasion whatsoever. People who bought this watch all over the world are absolutely loving it. The Calibre movement is absolutely fantastic with its 3 days’ power reserve, and the water-resistant property is cherry on top. I will say you should give it a try!
