The new Panerai Submersible Marina Militare Carbotech PAM00961 has introduced a rugged yet simplistic design to the audience. The colorway consists of blue accents and military green. The overall color scheme looks rough, handsome, and enticing. Rather than going after dark and bold color schemes, Panerai is introducing a rugged color design.
The Case
The watch comes with the words “MARINA MILITARE” engraved onto the dial. The diameter of the dial case is 47mm, and it is consistent with the previous Carbotech series from Panerai. The watch’s dial will be made out of Panerai’s proprietary carbon composite. This material offers an uneven matte black appearance with characteristic Damascene steel or marbled effect.
The case, the bezel, and the bridge will all be made out of this proprietary Carbotech. This material is stronger, more robust, and durable than ordinary carbon fibers. What’s more exciting that any two cases made form Carbotech are never the same. The material is created from thin sheets of carbon fibers. These sheets are then compressed at high pressure with a high-end polymer (PEEK) to bind the composite material. Therefore, every Carbotech case will always differ from the other. The dial for Panerai Submersible Marina Militare Carbotech PAM00961 will also rely on the use of Carbotech. The dial will feature a gorgeous and appropriate camouflage pattern. The indexes and the hands will be painted with a khaki green shade of luminescence. This will complete the military look that Panerai is going for.
The dial will feature hours and minutes in the center, along with a small seconds counter at 9 o’clock and a date at 3 o’clock.
The Watch Strap
Since Panerai is going after a military look, the rubber straps are also a matching military green to resonate harmoniously with the overall color scheme of the watch. All in all, this gives a powerful military look to the watch.
The Exclusivity
Who doesn't love exclusive and limited edition items? Well, everyone does. Panerai is going for exclusivity, and this is why the company has decided to create only 33 pieces of the Panerai Submersible Marina Militare Carbotech 47mm watch.
Moreover, the watch was created as a joint effort between Panerai and Combusin. Combusin is the Diving and Commando Group of the Italian Navy. Their logo will also be visible on the back of the watch. However, this is not all.
Panerai has gone to extreme lengths this time to create a stunning masterpiece. The owners of this watch will be offered a unique experience by taking part in a training session with Comsubin members. The 33 owners will spend days with the Italian Navy and participate in an underwater training session as an exclusive gift from Panerai.

Panerai is also releasing a simpler and non-limited edition for the audience. Ref. PAM00979 will come without the experience and white indexes instead of khaki green.

The more exclusive limited edition version, the PAM00961, is priced at $41,000USD and the less exclusive choice PAM00979 is priced at $19,400USD which does not include the diving experience with the Italian Navy.
