Vintage Leather Watch Straps
Vintage materials, made into individual watch straps. Explore Swiss and French ammunition-pouch leather alongside vintage canvas with leather backing. Original marks, grain and pattern vary from piece to piece; use each product’s photographs and description to choose the character you want.
Choosing a strap with a past
Leather and canvas have different stories
This collection includes more than one material. Swiss ammo leather, French ammo leather and vintage canvas should be identified separately on the product page. Canvas pieces may use a leather backing. Country, date and original use belong to the evidence for that individual piece; appearance alone cannot establish them.
Look at the actual piece
Stamps, old seams, changes in color and sections of a canvas pattern can give a strap its identity. Not every vintage strap carries a visible stamp or heavy wear. Examine both pieces and the keeper details in the photographs. A made-to-order version can share a material source without reproducing those exact markings.
Check thickness as carefully as width
Vintage straps vary in thickness and flexibility. Compare the listed dimensions with your watch’s available clearance and a strap that fits you well. Match the exact lug width rather than the case size or a broad watch-family name. The Strap Finder is a useful starting point for reference-specific sizing.
Wear, care and a custom route
Keep vintage leather and leather-backed canvas away from soaking and excessive sweat. Do not treat a mixed canvas-and-leather strap as a washable nylon band, or apply leather cream across the fabric. Ask about care for the actual material. For a different size or configuration, explore our custom vintage options.
